'The "Partita del Cuore" between the Singers National Team and the Race Car Drivers National Team ended 1-1'

There was a magnificent response by the city of Florence to the 8th edition of "La Partita del Cuore", match between the Singers National Team and the Race Car Drivers National Team. The coach for the singers was, Giovanni Trapattoni and for the drivers, Giancarlo Antognoni. This took place at the Franchi Stadium, the money will go to help the people of Kosovo.

The scenery in the stadium done by the fans was excellent. There were hundreds of white, red and violet flags which formed two giant hearts. Mr. Braschi was the referee of the match. He gave two yellow cards to the singers and red carded the drivers goalkeeper, so one of the racers took his place. (not to Massaro, he was substituted in the second half)

The first shot of the match was Schumi's and Batistuta stopped it without difficulty. The battle was on between the two champions, which are also very good friends. This battle between the two was one of the highlights of the match. The "Viola" captain showed he was quite capable of acting as goalkeeper by stopping some very good shots. The drivers showed once again that playing soccer is another of their passions.

A good first half for the drivers with a shot by Fisichella and good passes by Schumi to Alesi. Alesi went out injured late in the match, nothing serious. But it was the singers who were closer to scoring. Just before the end of the first half, a pass from Morandi to Barbarossa ended in a beautiful goal by Ramazzotti. The tie came around the 20th minute, a goal by Fisichella. A pass from Schumi to Fisichella ended in this goal which caught Bati out of the goal area. But the "capitano" vindicated himself later on by stopping two very well placed balls, and with a run to midfield that made the whole stadium go up in flames. Then his embrace with Schumi to gave a final kick to that awful war.

Firenze ha risposto con grande partecipazione ed entusiasmo all'8ª edizione della "partita del cuore", finita 1-1 tra la nazionale cantanti guidata da Giovanni Trapattoni e la rappresentativa piloti, allenata da Giancarlo Antognoni, che si e' giocata al Franchi e il cui ricavato andra' ai progetti dei profughi della guerra nei Balcani.

Spalti gremitissimi, quasi un miliardo di lire di incasso e scene di tripudio per i protagonisti della serata. Su tutti Michael Schumacher contro Gabriel Batistuta, beniamino del pubblico, nell'inedito ruolo di portiere per i cantanti. E ancora Eros Ramazzotti contro Jean Alesi, Gianni Morandi contro Giancarlo Fisichella, Luca Barbarossa contro l'ex milanista Daniele Massaro, chiamato a difendere la porta dei piloti. Defezione per Max Biaggi, vittima di un incidente nel gp di Francia

Preceduto da una suggestiva scenografia con decine di bambini e palloncini in campo a comporre la scritta "Firenze la partita del cuore" e migliaia di bandierine bianche, viola e rosse a formare due grandi cuori nelle curve, la partita, diretta dall'arbitro Braschi che ha escluso il portiere in seconda dei cantanti Munari e ammonito due cantanti, e' cominciata con oltre 15 minuti di ritardo.

Il primo tiro e' stato di Schumi e Batistuta l'ha parato senza difficolta'. Il duello fra i due campioni, grandi amici, costituira' una delle note piu' salienti della sfida. Il capitano viola, impegnato in piu' di un'occasione, ha dimostrato di saperci fare anche come portiere e il pilota ha confermato che quella per il pallone e' piu' di una passione.

Pimpanti i piloti nella prima parte della gara, trascinati da Fisichella, che ha sfiorato la rete al 15' con un bel dribbling e un tiro fuori di un soffio, e dalla verve di Schumi e Alesi, che e' poi uscito per un lieve infortunio intorno alla mezz'ora (si e' temuto per un suo ginocchio). Ma sono stati i cantanti, piu' esperti e gia' vicini al gol con la traversa di Barbarossa, a passare in vantaggio nel finale del primo tempo con Ramazzotti, che anche a Firenze ha confermato le sue qualita' di goleador: in coppia con Barbarossa, ha segnato finora 242 reti. Ramazzotti, a meta' ripresa, e' stato poi costretto a lasciare il campo zoppicante.

Il pareggio dei piloti, da sempre "bestia nera" dei cantanti, e' arrivato intorno al 20': Fisichella, uno dei migliori, ha realizzato quanto aveva detto: "Spero di segnare e di dedicare il gol a mia figlia". Sfruttando un bel suggerimento di Schumacher e la posizione troppo fuori dai pali di Batistuta, che pero' si e' poi riscattato con parate e uscite che hanno infiammato il pubblico e salvato la sua porta. Poi l'abbraccio finale con Schumacher per dare un calcio a questa maledetta guerra.
