A new stage: The first team won 3-0 over the second team
Bati has everyone scared : Scored 3 goals in 41 minutes
In the first half which lasted 25 minutes, Bati scored a magnificent
goal. And in the second half scored two more. This is supposedly the
team that will face Holland.

HOENDERLOO, Holland (Clarin, 27-3-99) -- Batistuta a 'BEAST' even in training. Yesterday afternoon in the first
match played by the supposedly selected eleven against the second team,
the fantastic Fiorentina striker transformed himself as the man of the
match. Winning 3-0, three goals scored by Bati.
First: Nine minutes in the first half, Ortega fed Batistuta with a
ball to the center to which Bati without letting the ball hit the floor
rammed into the net. A goal so beautiful that Bati celebrated it.
Second: Fourteen minutes in the second half profiting from
Siviero error, Bati kicked the ball over the head of Bizzarri. Another
perfect definition by Bati.
Third: Twenty four minutes in the second half, from outside the area,
the "santafesino" blasted a ball with his right foot, a ball the
goalkeeper couldn't withheld.
We saw a very much 'plugged -in' stricker, one who was the recipient of
the admiration of the hundreds that were present at the training.
Surely by now, Bielsa, weighting each player's performance will be able to
complete his selection of the ones who will play against Holland.
Roa; Senzini, Ayala, Pochettino at the back; Zanetti & Vivas on the
sides; Redondo as playmaker; Veron a little up front; then
Ortega, Bati and Piojo. (this group was wearing a "celeste" shirt)
The others wearing a blue shirt were: Bizzarri; Lombardi, Lussenhoff,
Pellegrino, Siviero; Cagna, Pineda; K. Gonzalez; Guglielminpietro,
Gustavo Lopez. Bielsa saw the match from the side. Miguel Angel tojo
was the ref..
The "celeste" were the owners of the ball until the first goal, then
some passes from Ortega to Bati and Piojo; some interesting moves from
Zanetti; they exert preasure all over the pitch. We could see that some
of Bielsa's ideas were being carried out by the players. Later on they
loose precision and clearness in their moves. Ortega had to go back
for the ball.
The second team was able to divide possession of the ball.
Bielsa stops the match and talked with the players. The second half
started with just one change, Lussenhoff instead of Ayala ( is this one
of Bielsa's doubt). The defense went from three, Senzini, Ayala,
Pochettino to four, Senzini, Lussenhoff,
Pochettino and Vivas. Zanetti went to mid-field. We could not say
they play well, the game maintained almost the same characteristics.
Only the brilliance of some of the players won the day. And Bati
maintained his, his habit of scoring goals.
En el primer tiempo, que duró 25 minutos, Bati marcó un golazo. Y en el
segundo, que duró 26, anotó dos más. Bielsa paró a los 11 quesupuestamente enfrentarán a Holanda, el miércoles.
Batistuta es una "fiera" hasta en los entrenamientos. Ayer por la tarde, en el primer partido de fútbol entre los supuestos titulares y los suplentes que se jugó desde que la Selección trabaja en la residencia Victoria, el fantástico delantero de la Fiorentina se transformó en el goleador excluyente de los 41 minutos desarrollados. Tres a cero para los titulares, entonces. Tres goles de Bati.
Primero: A los 9 minutos de la primera parte (hubo un tiempo de 25
y otro de 26). El Burrito Ortega, por el medio, se la levantó con precisión. Batistuta la empalmó con derecha como venía y la clavó abajo, junto al palo derecho de Bizzarri. Fue tan lindo que Bati hasta lo gritó.
Segundo: A los 14 del último período. Siviero falló un rechazo y se la dejó servida, allá lejos, sobre el costado derecho del ataque. Batistuta la bombeó por encima de la cabeza -y del adelantamiento- de Bizzarri. Otra definición estupenda.
Tercero: A los 24, dos minutos antes del final. Desde fuera del área, el santafesino probó al arco con el cañón que tiene en su pie derecho. Bizzarri puso mal su cuerpo, le rebotó y se le metió por arriba de su tardía estirada.
Más allá de ver enchufadísimo a un goleador de los que hay pocos (obviamente fue el que recibió las mayores muestras de admiración de las cien personas que miraron la práctica), el ensayo progamado por Bielsa dejó un abanico de cuestiones para el análisis. El propio entrenador, seguramente, ya debe haber "procesado" mentalmente lo entregado por los 22 jugadores, individual y colectivamente, para terminar de redondear el equipo que enfrentará a Holanda, el miércoles, en Amsterdam.
Roa; Sensini, Ayala, Pochettino en el fondo; Zanetti y Vivas, uno en cada lateral, bien adelantados y abiertos; Redondo como bastonero y Verón, un poco más arriba; Ortega, Bati y el Piojo López -los que desde hace rato se perfilan como titulares- se vistieron con un buzo celeste. Del otro lado, con ropa azul, formaron Bizzarri; Lombardi, Lussenhoff, Pellegrino, Siviero; Cagna, Pineda; Kily González; Guglielminpietro, Gustavo López y Crespo. Bielsa presenció el partido desde un costado de la cancha. Miguel

Los "celestes" capitalizaron la pelota desde el principio y la mantuvieron en su poder hasta el 1-0. Con algunas llegadas profundas -nacidas generalmente en toques profundos de Ortega para Bati o para Claudio López-, con un par de desbordes interesantes de Zanetti. Y con lo visto repetidamente en los trabajos tácticos de los días anteriores: una presión permanente en todo el terreno. El equipo se paró bien adelante, dejó el alma para ganar el balón, trató de hacerlo circular con justeza y con rapidez, respetó cada una de las indicaciones tácticas. Por momentos
(especialmente en ese arranque) se logró concretar la idea; en otros, a los movimientos les faltaron sincronización, precisión y vuelo. El pressing no tuvo la misma intensidad. Los delanteros fueron habilitados más aisladamente y ya sin "limpieza". El Burrito, por ejemplo, debió retrasarse varios metros y tirarse hacia el medio porque, abierto so bre la derecha, se quedaba sin juego. El equipo suplente, aún llegando muy poco hasta Roa, dividió la pelota. Bielsa paró el encuentro a los 25 minutos exactos. Habló un ratito con el grupo y lo reanudó. Pero con un cambio: Lussenhoff por Ayala (¿es una de las dudas del técnico para el miércoles?). La defensa de tres hombres (Sensini, Ayala, Pochettino) se convirtió en línea de cuatro
(Sensini, Lussenhoff, Pochettino, Vivas) y Zanetti pasó al mediocampo definitivamente. El trámite mantuvo casi las mismas características. Y Bati también: su sana costumbre no cambia jamás.
