The 22 names to play against Holland will be announced.

Buenos Aires (Clarin 18-3-99) -- Finally, this late, at 19.30, Marcelo Bielsa will announce the list of 22 players summoned for the friendly match at the 31st of this month against Holland, in Amsterdam. Apart from Siviero, Pineda, Roa and Kily González whose names were already going round, Claudio López and Pochettino were added yesterday. Both confirmed having had contact with the trainer. "I was very satisfied and pleased to receive Bielsa's call. I hope I manage to gain the new trainer's confidence soon", El Piojo stated to EFE. Pochettino -- Bielsa coached him at Newell's and Espanyol -- commented: "I am very happy because being summoned to the national team is the most important thing to any soccer player. The dream I have always had has come true".

Bielsa will wait until the last moment before announcing the list. He awaits the final matches played in order to know the physical condition of all players. As for the other ten summoned there are firm indications that one of them will be Nelson Vivas (Arsenal) -- who is in Argentina because he became 'dad' the day before yesterday -- and most of the rest will be drawn from the Italian League. Who? Juan Verón, Roberto Sensini and Hernán Crespo of Parma, Javier Zanetti (Inter), Roberto Ayala (Milan) and Ariel Ortega (Sampdoria).

To radio station La Red, Hernán Crespo expressed his interest and lack of information on a possible return to the national team. "I did not receive any call. Finalmente esta tarde, a las 19.30, Marcelo Bielsa anunciará la lista de 22 jugadores convocados para el amistoso del 31 del actual, ante Holanda, en Amsterdam. La confirmación de los nombres será dada en el predio de Ezeiza y servirá para despejar las últimas incógnitas, ya que han trascendido varios apellidos.

La Nación anticipó ayer 12 apellidos que recibieron la notificación de la AFA para asegurarse que podrán estar desde el próximo lunes en la residencia privada Victoria, en la localidad de Hoenderloo, a 100 kilómetros de Amsterdam. "Recibí la llamada de Bielsa con mucha satisfacción y alegría. Espero que me pueda ganar pronto la confianza del nuevo técnico", dijo el Piojo en declaraciones a EFE. Mientras tanto, Pochettino -Bielsa lo dirigió en Newell's y en Espanyol-, sostuvo: "Estoy muy feliz porque para todo futbolista ser convocado a su selección es una de las cosas más importantes que te pueden pasar. Se ha hecho realidad el sueño que he tenido siempre".

Al informar la lista esta tarde, Bielsa esperará hasta último momento. Aguardará el final de los partidos por la Recopa -juega Mallorca- para conocer el estado físico de todos. Sobre los otros diez convocados hay firmes indicios de que uno será Nelson Vivas (Arsenal) -está en la Argentina porque anteayer fue papá- y la mayoría de los restantes surgirá de la Liga italiana. ¿Quiénes? Juan Verón, Roberto Sensini y Hernán Crespo, de Parma, Javier Zanetti (Inter), Roberto Ayala (Milan) y Ariel Ortega (Sampdoria).

En declaraciones a radio La Red, ayer Hernán Crespo mostró su interés y desinformación sobre un posible regreso al seleccionado. "No recibí ningún llamado. Ojalá que me citen porque estoy desesperado por jugar en el seleccionado. Tengo entendido que a los muchachos que están en España les ha llegado el fax, pero yo aún no se nada", comentó.

El fantasma de las lesiones

El que quedaría excluido de esta convocatoria es Matías Almeyda, que se recupera de un esguince en el tobillo izquierdo -lo sufrió hace poco más de dos semanas, en un choque con Zanetti en Lazio-Inter-, y ayer se sumó la incertidumbre por el estado de Diego Simeone, que a los 32 minutos del primer tiempo del juego con Manchester United, por la Liga de campeones, abandonó la cancha con una torcedura en el tobillo izquierdo. Un tercer jugador lesionado, pero en este caso definitivamente descartado, es José Chamot, que anteayer, en el duelo Roma v. Atlético de Madrid, por la UEFA, sufrió una rotura semimembranosa en el muslo izquierdo y estará tres semanas inactivo.

Para las plazas pendientes, y según se defina la situación de Simeone, podrían estar Andrés Guglielminpietro (Milan) y Martín Posse (Espanyol). Sin olvidar que falta definir el arquero suplente: ¿Bizzarri?

Aún no se conoce cuando viajará Bielsa a Europa (tal vez esta noche o mañana, junto con Luis Bonini); el resto del cuerpo técnico -el ayudante Claudio Vivas y el doctor Villani- lo hará pasado mañana, a las 20.
